The Best Partner of Aviation Systems
– Export milestone: Urielsoft to deliver its proprietary integrated passenger transport solution to Burundi’s main international airport
– Initial meeting arranged by KOTRA Dar es Salaam office in 2023 leads to successful contract with BCAA
– Comprehensive export includes AIRCUS, the same system deployed at Incheon International Airport
Urielsoft has officially signed a contract with the Burundi Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) to implement a passenger service system at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, the country’s major international gateway.
This project marks the first Korean export of a full-scale integrated smart airport system to Africa, covering the entire spectrum of passenger services including check-in, self check-in, gate announcements, and flight information. With this achievement, Urielsoft strengthens its presence in the African airport systems market.
The partnership follows a first meeting in late 2023, arranged by KOTRA’s Dar es Salaam Trade Office, and has since progressed through sustained technical proposals and tailored support to meet local requirements.
From Pemba to Bujumbura: Full-Scale Platform Export Accelerates
Urielsoft previously made its African market debut by successfully delivering LDCS (Local Departure Control System) and FIDS (Flight Information Display System) to Pemba Airport in Tanzania.
The new Burundi project goes further, encompassing the deployment of CUPPS (Common Use Passenger Processing Systems), CUSS (Common Use Self Service), FIDS, and GBS (Gate Broadcasting System)—forming a comprehensive smart airport solution. Urielsoft will also directly supply core airport hardware such as boarding pass and baggage tag printers (BPP/BTP) and passport readers (MRP), providing a seamless integration of both software and hardware.
One of the key systems to be applied, AIRCUS, is a flagship CUPPS solution developed and enhanced by Urielsoft for Incheon International Airport, and is now part of a global joint marketing initiative in partnership with Incheon International Airport Corporation.
Korean Smart Airport Technology Goes Global
Celebrating its 19th anniversary this April, Urielsoft has delivered advanced passenger transport solutions to major Korean airports and airlines. Building on this field-proven experience, the company has continued to enhance its proprietary smart airport technologies.
This latest project with BCAA demonstrates that Urielsoft’s integrated passenger system is internationally competitive, especially within Africa’s public sector procurement space. It also signals the potential of Korean smart airport systems on the global stage.
Urielsoft remains committed to expanding the reach of Korean-made aviation solutions across emerging markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, leveraging its robust operational know-how and development capabilities.
